Now about the foundation and the disease.

According to the MMRF website,

Multiple myeloma is a type of cancer where certain cells, called plasma cells, in the bone marrow grow out of control.               These cancerous cells damage the bones and cause bone pain. Other problems caused by myeloma include infections,           anemia, problems with bruising and bleeding, and damage to some of the body’s organs (particularly the kidneys).

While multiple myeloma is considered to be incurable, it is a treatable disease. There are more treatments today than ever         before that are helping patients live longer, healthier lives.

MMRF strives to bring new treatments to patients quickly.  From research grants to working with the pharmaceutical and biotech industry to advance the next generation of treatments, MMRF has helped increase the life expectancy of someone diagnosed with this disease from four years to seven.  MMRF also offers educational resources for those diagnosed with the disease and their families.

Please donate to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation today and help those living with this horrible disease.  You can donate directly here, you can find a MMRF event near you to participate in here or show your support with some MMRF swag.
